A 7 570 m² 5-star hotel is being built in the centre of Reykjavik, one part of which is an existing building and the other part is a new wing. The hotel will have 128 guest rooms, wellness, garage, and own kitchen.
Our company was responsible for the complete design of the mechanical system and the BIM model. The BIM model was created in the Hungarian office using Revit software, in collaboration with the Icelandic architectural, structural and electrical designers.
The mechanical system includes the design of heating, cooling, domestic hot/cold water systems, sprinkler, dry fuel water, waste water, air handling and rainwater harvesting together with the underground sewer system. Hot water will be provided by district heating according to local conditions. Cooling energy is provided by the utility water network. Air treatment is provided by 5 air handling units in 3 parts of the building. Sewage and rainwater is collected by connection to the system under the street.
